It’s hard to believe the end of the school year is just a few weeks away! But don’t check out just yet — we still have plenty of excitement ahead! Carnival Weekend is finally here, and we hope to see everyone there enjoying the fun and supporting our school community. Be sure to invite your family, friends, neighbors, and loved ones to join in on the festivities — the more, the merrier! Some final volunteer opportunities can be found below as we work to help with spring cleaning at the school. We will be having PA interest meeting coming up next week as well as our final PA meeting on Monday, June 1st on Zoom. Have a great rest of the week and a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

Parent Association 2025-2026 Weekly Update

SECURITY MATCHING GRANT FUND
Closes Sunday, May 31st
Although the auction has officially ended, Auctria will remain open through May 31st and is still accepting donations for the St. Cyril School Foundation Security Matching Grant Fund.
The Foundation has generously committed to matching all donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000, specifically for critical campus security improvements. As many of you may have already noticed, some of these enhancements are already underway — including increased security staffing — but there is still a larger fundraising goal of approximately $170,000 needed to fully complete these important upgrades.
We are incredibly grateful that many families have already contributed toward this important initiative, and we thank everyone who has helped support these efforts so far. We encourage those who are still able to give to consider making a donation during this matching opportunity, where every dollar goes twice as far toward helping strengthen the safety and security of our campus for all students, faculty, and families.

ENCINO SPRING CARNIVAL
May 22nd – May 24th
The Encino Spring Carnival is this weekend!
Please note that during the carnival, there will NOT be parking in the Firmament lot. Please do NOT park there without permission. We will tow unauthorized vehicles that do not have parking permits. Please note that there will be security in the lot near the Firmament entrance at all times during the event. Parking is available on the streets surrounding St. Cyril. Please be respectful of our neighbors when parking. Carnival attendees can enter the event from the Firmament or the Haskell pedestrian gates, as they will be unlocked. You will not be able to enter from Ventura Blvd.
Volunteer Hours: Additional volunteer shifts have been added to the Sign Up Genius. If you are still looking to complete your volunteer hours before the end of the school year, this is a great opportunity! Visit the Sign Up Genius to volunteer.
Presale Wristbands: There are a few remaining presale wristband vouchers! Each unlimited ride wristband is available for only $100. This is the best way to ensure your children can enjoy all the rides throughout the entire carnival weekend. Email events@stcyrilschool.org to secure yours!

Our amazing SCJ teachers and staff will be stepping behind the bar and serving drinks during the carnival! Stop by, say hello, and tip your teachers and staff! Every dollar donated goes directly back into our classrooms to support supplies, learning materials, special projects, and fun experiences for our students. Teachers and staff members will be popping in behind the bar all weekend long, so if you’re hoping to catch your favorite SCJ staff member serving drinks, be sure to ask them what time they’ll be there!
2026 SCJ TALENT SHOW

The Talent Show is finally here and will kick off the Opening Night of our Carnival Weekend! Come cheer on and support our incredibly talented students as they take the stage to showcase their hard work, creativity, and courage. It’s always one of the most memorable and entertaining nights of the year, and you won’t want to miss it. Bring your family and friends and help us celebrate the amazing talents within our school community!
SCJ CLEAN OUT EVENT
May 29th and/or May 30th
Volunteers Needed!
Join us on May 29th and/or May 30th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM for our school clean out event! This is one of the last opportunities to earn volunteer hours for the year — and we are offering DOUBLE HOURS for those who participate.
Already completed your required hours for this year? No problem! We can give you a head start on next year’s volunteer hours instead.

2026 -2028 PA BOARD INTEREST MEETING

- Mondays & Wednesdays during snack time – 9:45–10:45 AM
- Fridays during snack time and after school – 12:30–1:30 PM
Without enough volunteers, Snack Shack may close.
Snacks and small trinkets are available for purchase, so please send your child with cash if they’d like to shop. Let’s keep the Snack Shack running for the kids!
