We have a variety of positions available for families to fulfill their 30 hour annual volunteer requirement. Italian Dinner Dance Volunteers
There are plenty of ways that you can help ensure that this is a successful event for the entire school community! We need volunteers to assist with set-up and prep (as early as a couple of days before the event), volunteers to assist during and after the event, as well as volunteers to donate specific wines that are being requested. There are so many ways to earn your service hours while coming together to show your support for our school! Snack Shack Volunteers
Snack Shack is back, but we need volunteers to keep it running! Snack shack open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:45 – 10:45am and Fridays from 12:30 – 1:30pm. Please sign up on the Sign Up Genius if you would like to volunteer. Volunteers must be Virtus trained and fingerprinted.

Gala Co-Chair (Position Filled)
As Gala Co-Chair you will work with Co-Chair Leslie Johnson to plan this year’s 75th Jubilee Gala celebrating the school’s 75th anniversary to be held Saturday, March 1, 2025. The Gala is the PA’s second largest fundraiser. You will work with Leslie to plan and execute the Gala and to oversee the Decorations Committee and Auction Committee, as well as additional volunteers.

Gala Auction Committee (Positions Filled)
Are you extremely detail-oriented and know your way around a spreadsheet? Then Gala Auction Committee member is the volunteer job for you! The Auction, held each year at the Gala, is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Auction Committee members are responsible for soliciting auction donations from local businesses and entering those items into our auction database. A background in finance, project management, or business sales and marketing is a bonus, but not required. This position will allow you to fulfill your family volunteer requirement for the year, and most work can be completed from home on your schedule.

Gala Decorations Committee (2 Positions Available)
Are you a crafty DIYer who loves making things, upcycling, and creating amazing decorations for cheap that look like they cost a fortune? The Gala Decorations Committee will work with the Gala Chairs to design, create and execute a decoration plan for this year’s 75th Jubilee Gala on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at and off-site venue. The Committee will also oversee additional volunteers to help execute the plan.

Gala Liaison (10 Positions Available)
A parent volunteer from each class is needed to assist with Gala preparations. Responsibilities include sending out communications by way of your Group Chat specifically about the Gala Auction, soliciting Auction donations from fellow parents, collecting monetary donations from parents to help cover ticket expenses for faculty and staff to attend the Gala, marketing and promoting ticket sales and auction bidding.

Organization Committee (Positions Filled)
Do you have a knack for organization? Enjoy bringing order to the chaos of a junk drawer? Do you keep a label maker handy? We need a team player who is able to help create and execute an organization plan to multiple PA storage areas on campus. The Organization Committee will create this plan and then set an implementation schedule which it will complete over the course of the school year.

Wood Bench Refinishing Team (Positions Filled)
Do you enjoy woodworking? Find yourself rationalizing why you need to buy more tools? Or do you just enjoy working outdoors? We need you, your skills and possibly your tools to refinish four wood benches at the school and revive them to their former glory. Gerrit Green, SCJ parent and woodworker extraordinaire, will offer a tutorial, if needed, to get this group started. This is a flexible group that will determine its own work schedule with the goal of completing all work by the end of October.

Spirit Wear Co-Chair (Position Filled)
The Spirit Wear Co-Chair will work with Co-Chair Leslie Lee to inventory existing Spirit Wear stock, order new items, and sell Spirit Wear at campus events such as Italian Dinner Dance, Back to School Night, Christmas Tree Lighting, etc.

Greening Committee (Positions Filled)
The Greening Committee, in cooperation with the after school Garden Club, works to provide gardening and environmental education to students and introduce sustainable practices across campus through various projects. We are looking for members interested in helping with ongoing projects such as building additional raised planting beds on campus, and supporting the school as it implements 3-stream waste disposal, as well as spearheading new projects.

Garden Club Assistant (Position Filled)
Do you love working in the garden and teaching little kiddos? Garden Club needs a volunteer to assist club leader, Colleen Chretin, with running club sessions. Responsible for assisting with set-up and clean up (approximately two hours total each Friday after school) for eight weeks beginning on Friday, Sept 13th. The class consists of 8-10 students ages Preschool-3rd grade that work on new gardening projects each week. Must be VIRTUS trained and fingerprinted.

Laundry Specialist (Position Filled)
Would you like to earn volunteer hours from the comfort of your own home? We need a laundry specialist who is able to pick up dirty tablecloths after events (PA meetings, Open House, Italian Dinner Dance, etc), launder and them, and bring them back to the school.

Trophy Specialist (Position Filled)
A unique project for a unique individual. We have boxes of trophies sitting in storage. We would like to have the name plates mounted on plaques which can be prominently displayed. Additionally, we need someone to identify organizations that accept and reuse donated trophies. Initial research and cost estimating is estimated at about three hours of time. Once a plan is developed, additional hours will be available to execute the plan.

Volleyball Coach — Girls B
Teaching the basic skills needed to play volleyball, coaching at the game and overseeing all team activities. Must obtain a CYO coaches card which requires to be Virtus trained and fingerprinted. Coach Rios and the school can assist with this process.
