We have a variety of updated positions available for the 2025-2026 School Year for families to fulfill all or most of their 30 hour annual volunteer requirement. If you don’t see a volunteer opportunity that fits your skills, interests, or availability, please contact the PA Board at scjpa@stcyrilschool.org and we will be happy to find volunteer options for you!

Italian Dinner Dance Volunteers

We Need Your Help!
To make this night a success, we’re asking for volunteers to pitch in. Whether it’s helping with setup, food service, or clean-up, your time and support make all the difference.

Welcome Committee Co-Chairs (2 Positions Available)

Our Welcome Committee is often the first point of contact for new families on campus. These positions are ideal for parents that have been in the SCJ community for a couple of years and are able to answer questions about our events and yearly timeline. Duties include food and drink set up for our welcome back to school breakfast, room parent and event chair orientation, two PA meetings and two open houses. Welcome committee members also help out on high school night and setting up for the first day of school. We are looking for two parents and/or families to join this committee.

Hours: Fulfills family volunteer requirement for the year.

Gala Auction Co-Chair (1 Position Available)

Are you extremely detail-oriented and know your way around a spreadsheet? Then Gala Auction Chair is the volunteer job for you! The Auction, held each year at the Gala, is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Auction Chairs are responsible for updating an existing database of auction items and soliciting auction donations from online sources. Must be proficient with data entry and be comfortable learning a new database system. This position will allow you to fulfill your family volunteer requirement for the year, and most work can be completed from home on your schedule.

Sponsorship Chair (Filled)

Are you a people person? Is sales and marketing your thing? We are looking for a chair to manage and expand the school’s sponsorship opportunities and revenue. Go it alone or build your team—the PA will assist and support your efforts. This position will be responsible for maintaining relationships with our existing sponsors and cultivating new ones. You will coordinate with event chairs throughout the year to develop and sell event-based sponsorship opportunities as well as maintain and sell year-round advertising banners on Ventura Blvd (they are very popular with local businesses). This position can largely be done remotely on your schedule throughout the year.

Haunted Mansion Co-Chairs (1-2 Positions)

We need two energetic, Halloween-loving chairs to execute the “Haunted Mansion” portion of the yearly Halloween Carnival. You will organize the set up and take down of the Haunted Mansion in the Hall and work with Jr. High students to staff the event. Most of the props and materials already exist, but this event is waiting for you to add your own creative (and spooky) twist!

Sons’ Day Chair (1-2 Positions)

This beloved event, formerly known as the “Mother-Son Event”, needs a visionary chair to create a memorable event that celebrates our SCJ sons. All SCJ sons are invited to participate along with a special adult in their life. This event typically takes place in February or March. An off campus event is preferred, but not required.

Garden Club Assistant (Filled)

Do you love working in the gardening and teaching little kiddos? Garden Club needs two volunteers to assist club leader, Colleen Chretin, with running club sessions. Responsibilities include assisting with roster checkin/check out, parent communications, and set-up and clean up (approx. two hours total each Friday after school) for six weeks beginning on Friday, Sept 19th. The class consists of 12 students ages Preschool-2nd grade that work on new gardening projects each week. Must be VIRTUS trained and fingerprinted.

Hours: 12+

Greening Committee Member (Filled)

The Greening Committee in cooperation with the after school Garden Club, works to provide gardening and environmental education to students and introduce sustainable practices across campus. We are looking for members interested in helping with ongoing and new projects. Gardeners are encouraged to join!

Hours: 6+

Snack Shack Volunteers

The Snack Shack will officially open on Monday 9/15! Sign up here: Snack Shack Volunteers Without enough volunteers, Snack Shack may close. 

Shifts:  

  • Mondays & Wednesdays (during snack time) – 9:45–10:45 AM  
  • Fridays (during snack time and after school) – 12:30–1:30 PM  

Snacks and small trinkets are available for purchase, so please send your child with cash if they’d like to shop. Let’s keep the Snack Shack running for the kids! Must be VIRTUS trained and fingerprinted.

Daughters’ Day Chair (Filled)

This beloved event, formerly known as the “Father-Daughter Dance”, needs a visionary chair to create a memorable event that celebrates our SCJ daughters. All SCJ daughters are invited to participate along with a special adult in their life. This event typically takes place in February or March. An off campus event is preferred, but not required.

Greening Committee Lead (Filled)

The Greening Committee, in cooperation with the after school Garden Club, works to green the campus and assist the school with sustainable practices. We are looking for a parent to lead an existing committee with ongoing projects such as maintaining and enhancing raised planting beds, supporting the school as it implements 3-stream waste disposal, as well as spearheading new projects. The ideal candidate has a green(ish) thumb, hearts the earth and can lead a team.

Hours: 10+
